As I’ve mentioned in other posts, almost my ENTIRE family is involved with the food/restaurant industry. Being surrounded by that atmosphere growing up made me want to be involved with food for the rest of my life, as in professionally. When going through colleges and making mature decisions when I was as immature as could be, I was so close to choosing a culinary school. The passion for cooking was definitely there, I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to do it for the rest of my life. Being a year away from graduating, I am so glad I didn’t choose that route.
Being born and raised in a traditional Thai family, I have been surrounded by Thai cuisine from a very young age. More than half of my family members are involved with the restaurant business somehow, and I have spent countless hours in the restaurants myself, learning and thoroughly enjoying the food. I often call my father my own personal chef and his cooking skills are literally out of this world! Being very close to my parents, their love for cooking and eating has definitely been embedded in me!
